Postcard from Paris to Participate in Inspiration Home
Proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure

(Greenville, SC: March 31, 2009)  Postcard from Paris, a local full-service design firm, is among the designers participating in the upcoming Inspiration Home benefitting the Upstate South Carolina Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The firm has designed the library, terrace-level guest suite, and wine room of the three-story, 8,400 square-foot home in Cobblestone. The home, built by Milestone Custom Homes, is designed to showcase old-world craftsmanship, innovative design, and state-of-the-art technology.

“We were excited by the concept of the inspiration home and were honored to participate,” notes Linda McDougald, principal and lead designer of Postcard from Paris. “The home offered a wonderful opportunity to showcase the beauty of the work of Greenville’s design community while supporting a cause that touches almost everyone.”

Postcard from Paris’s design of the library departs from the oft-used dark stained paneling and leather-bound books. The firm instead took a more metropolitan approach with shades of ivory, fabrics of simple solids, and accents of white books, glass accessories, and Match pewter. The guest suite is also marked by a simple chic design with classic streamlined furnishings of dark walnut with striking nickel accents against a background of soft shades of taupe and blue. The design of the wine room has a more traditional old-world Tuscan feel.

Going beyond typical green building practices, the Inspiration Home is integrating processes, materials, and technology to create a home that balances quality, sustainability, and a sense of community.

“The home will offer an experience far beyond your typical dream home and connect with the community,” says Jerry Fay of Milestone Custom Homes. “We are appreciative to firms such as Postcard from Paris who are donating time and energy to this home and illustrating a commitment to our community that helps make Greenville such a special place to live and work.”

The tour dates for the Inspiration Home are April 17 – 19, April 24 – 26, May 1 – 3, and May 8 –10. More information and tickets are available at http://www.ihomesc.com.
