Change things up a bit - accessorize!

Have you ever walked into a friend’s home and knew something was different but couldn’t quite put your finger on it? That’s the type of impact accessories can make on a room. And the best part is you don’t have to spend a fortune to change things up. There are a few simple tips that will make accessorizing a breeze.

  1. Think in odd numbers. Placing your accessories in groups of three or five makes an eye-pleasing display.
  2. Triangles instead of rows. Imagine a triangle on your table and place a trio of accessories at each point.
  3. Vary heights. Rather than having three candlesticks, try placing a lamp with a stack of books and a small box with the smaller items toward the front of your grouping.
  4. Right is right. Because the eye naturally reads left to right, put something striking in the right side of the room to catch the eye and open up the space.
