Change things up a bit - accessorize!
Have you ever walked into a friend’s home and knew something was different but
couldn’t quite put your finger on it? That’s the type of impact accessories can
make on a room. And the best part is you don’t have to spend a fortune to change
things up. There are a few simple tips that will make accessorizing a breeze.
- Think in odd numbers. Placing your accessories in groups of three or five makes an eye-pleasing display.
- Triangles instead of rows. Imagine a triangle on your table and place a trio of accessories at each point.
- Vary heights. Rather than having three candlesticks, try placing a lamp with a stack of books
and a small box with the smaller items toward the front of your grouping.
- Right is right. Because the eye naturally reads left to right, put something striking in the
right side of the room to catch the eye and open up the space.
